Interim Production Planner
Our client is a chocolate and dessert manufacturer with one of the most diverse and innovative product portfolios in the UK confectionery market. An Interim Production Planner is needed for minimum 3 months. Reporting to the Production Director, the main tasks are: - Report weekly on the previous week's peformance against plan, detailing quantity made vs. planned
- Report monthly recording year-to-date production volumes, planned % changeovers and conformance to plan
- Liaise on a daily basis with Supply Chain and Production to discuss major issues and variances to plan
- Report and comment on daily shortages and production discrepancies on a daily basis
- Chair a monthly meeting to interrogate the sales forecast, prior to setting up and validating the planning process

- Liase with external raw materials suppliers, place orders and book in deliveries when necessary

The Lead Technical Field Advisor will be responsible for planning and co-ordination as well as for providing technical advice in support of the tendering, design, pre-planning and installation of a retrofit project.
As you support three product lines, you must be able to meet the demands of multiple reporting structures and interfaces. Mobility is essential as installation projects are planned in the US and Poland amongst other locations. It is important that you have a background in, and understanding of, power generation, and the sort of operational, technical and commercial problems you are likely to encounter. You will be assessed on your ability to meet deadlines with quality technical advice and installations, with a strong adherence to the correct commissioning procedures and correct completion of documentation and records
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Opportunity/Tender Development Phase: - Perform plant walk-downs for tender support purposes
- Obtain integrate and evaluate approved sub-supplier quotations with regard to technical adherence, costing, scheduling and risk management
- Facilitate integrated outage planning, costing and risk evaluation with partners and sub-suppliers to achieve project capture strategy targets
- Provide Installation Management specialist support for Tendering and Capture in development of steam turbine retrofit tenders e.g. customer meetings and promotions
- Support of site measuring and survey activities
Project Execution Pre-Outage Phase: - Technical and organizational interface to management, colleagues clients and suppliers

Educational Background/Knowledge/Experience:

The Retrofit Outage Co-ordinator is responsible for planning, co-ordinating and execution of the most complex site installation projects, including overseeing all aspects of planning, budgets, and resources and interfaces to project management, engineering, customer site teams, partner installation teams and sub-contractors. Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

In some instances, he or she will need to be located in close proximity to the site, whereever it is located in the world. Reporting to the General Manager of the Global Business Unit, and the Operational Director, you will manage the Project and/or the consortium team in order to ensure that the global contract committments are met in terms of Quality, Cost and Delivery. Your specific responsibilities will cover four essential elements: PREPARING AND MANAGING THE PROJECT MANAGEMENT PLAN - Implement key management tools, including work breakdown structures, scope and statement or work, master schedules, defining QCD targets to work packages, procedures for task authorization and change orders, list of deliverables, project assumptions and maintain the Project Schedule
- Ensure proper implementation of a multi-leveled scheduling process
ORGANIZING THE PROJECT TEAM - Organize and coach the project team and set responsibilities, rules and and resourcing requirements. Interface with Partners to ensure adequate resources are available when needed. Organize the Project Platform, involving key suppliers, especially at the design phase.
MANAGING THE PROJECT - Take all necessary decisions, (quality, performance, price, costs, contract and schedule of the systems and products delivered to the customer, given previously defined targets allocated to the work packages). All corresponding decisions will be taken in accordance with the delegation of authority in place in the business and unit
- Manage all internal and external interfaces to ensure adequate progress along the projects baseline and the contract management. Manage the contract cost budget. Manage milestones and conduct appropriate risk mitigation. Manage the project reviews and take appropriate action, and report to appropriate stakeholders as required. Organize and manage a project reporting system.
COMMUNICATION - Regular, open communication with all internal and external stakeholders on the progress of the project, the main issues encountered and actions undertaken or proposed to manage these issues. Ensure experience feedback reviews are performed to promote a learning organization.
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE: You will have a relevant degree qualification and a track record in an engineering discipline. Ideally, you will have experience in the power generation industry, particularly with regard to turbine technology. PMI and/or AMP accredication desirable.
