Interim provision made simple
What do we need from you? Next steps...
- Send us your CV to cv@affordableinterims.com or upload it using the Candidate Enquiry Form. This should be in Word Format. Keep it simply formatted. No PDF's as CV's. We cannot do keyword searches with them. Make sure all your contact details are on the head of the CV, including e-mail and mobile numbers. Remember! Interim management is often about speed, and we will need to get in touch with you urgently.
- There is no such thing as an ideal CV layout. You will be the expert on your own background and experience. However, as a guideline, make sure that you list your interim assignments separately from your permanent assignments. Include all academic and professional qualifications. They are important no matter how much time has elapsed. List your main achievements for each permanent or interim position in bullet-point format. Structure your CV in reverse chronological order.
- Include all contact details of two references who we can approach at any time, without compromising any current assignment. You can update these two references at any time as your interim career progresses.
- If you have a copy of any letters congratulating you on a job well done, or any case histories, let us have copies of those too.
- You must be a limited company to register with us as an interim executive. www.companieshouse.com will give you all the information and support you will need to do this, if you have not already set up your own limited company.
- We will need to see a copy of your company registration when you register with us, with your limited company registration number.
- You will need to have Professional Indemnity Insurance to operate as an interim executive. Your current financial adviser is the best person to guide you in this. If you are a member of any professional institute, you will most likely find that they have their own schemes and advice as a starting point.
- Once we have received the information listed, we will review your CV, and get back to you as soon as possible to confirm that we have registered you. We will have a discussion with you on which professional categories to register you under. If you have been an MD/CEO, then you will restrict your chances by only registering yourself in this category, rather than FD, marketing or all the other functional roles you can fulfil. Clients tend to think and specify on the basis of functional roles and task, rather than position. Registration is not automatic. We will look for a solid track record of progression either in a permanent or interim career.
- Once you are registered, we will e-mail you a Welcome Pack. This will cover the following broad information in much fuller detail.
